Ozow and Mukuru join forces to help you move money around Africa — Elementor

Leading payments platform Ozow, is excited to announce its partnership with Mukuru – a next gen Fintech platform and the largest money transfer provider in Africa.

Known for empowering people – who are typically excluded from mainstream financial services- to move money in an efficient and safe manner, Mukuru aligns perfectly with Ozow’s mission to drive financial inclusion in South Africa and beyond.

We have been very impressed with the work that Mukuru has done in the remittance space – despite the pandemic, remittances flowing from countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia have proven resilient. With more digitised banking services, more ways to transact are being made available to marginalised communities throughout the country. Ozow can further accelerate this adoption with our focus on instant electronic funds transfer. We are very excited to partner with such a team of high-achievers”, says Jerome Touze, COO at OZOW

With this partnership, Mukuru App customers can now pay for their money transfers directly from their account with Ozow. Paying with Ozow means customers can move money from the comfort of their own homes across Africa, while skipping long queues and saving time from waiting for direct deposits to clear when funds need to be received instantly.

Upon completing the registration process with Mukuru and placing a money transfer order, all you need to do is select Ozow to pay in your money, enter your banking details and send. It’s as easy as that. Thereafter you have the option to create your 4-digit Ozow PIN which means when you make your next transaction, the money can be moved even faster.

Mukuru CEO, Andy Jury, says, “In the wake of the global pandemic, finding cost effective but powerful ways to expand reach and deliver business value to customers is becoming increasingly important – and arguably, a way to achieve longevity in a fast-changing financial services environment. The Mukuru – Ozow partnership presents an opportunity to offer a new value-added service on top of existing ones, to a significant base of users.”

Whether you are sending money for school fees, hospital bills, rent or groceries, Ozow and Mukuru are passionate about providing the platform and technological support needed to enrich the lives of Africa’s people by helping families, friends and loved ones stay connected.
